AceShowbiz - Usher's teen soon has sparked a speculation about his sexuality after he joined his father to endorse Kamala Harris. Usher "Cinco" Raymond V got compared to Dwyane Wade's daughter Zaya Wade, who is a transgender, after he filmed a TikTok video with his famous father and the Vice President.
In the clip uploaded by the R&B star on his Instagram page on Sunday, October 20, the threesome did a TikTok trend which uses audio pulled from a 2016 episode of the TV sitcom "Broad City", starring Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. The sound bite in question is a conversation between two female voices discussing how to behave in a nightclub.
Mouthing the dialogue, Harris asked Usher V, "Do you know them?" The teen, who rocked dyed hair and earrings, answered while pointing to a "Kamala Harris for President" pin that he wore on his clothes, "No, but in da clurb, we all fam." He also bopped up and down, mimicking a person who dances in the club.
Looking confused, Harris asked again, "What?" This time, Usher responded with a similar gesture to his son's, "In da clurb, we all fam." Harris said again, "I don't...," before the "U Remind Me" crooner explained, "In the club, we are all family."
The video soon drew mixed responses from Usher's fans due to his political move, but some others decided to weigh in on Usher V's sexuality. "User son remind of d wade son lol," someone wrote a transphobic comment, referring to Zaya as "son" despite her being open about her transition.
Another similarly remarked, "Usher son taking that Dwayne wade son approach." A third asked, "Does Usher son Use Pronouns? Lol." A fourth user claimed, "His son looks gay that's why they support Kamala."
Others quickly jumped to the teen's defense, clapping back at the speculators. "Why are you guys making fun of his teenage son ...weirdos," one of them wrote. Another reacted to the trolling comments, "Yal talking about a kid cmon now grow up." One other added, "Are some of y'all really commenting about another man's child?"
Some others, who are seemingly Republican supporters, dubbed the video "cringe" and blasted Usher as "industry puppet."
Prior to sharing the video, Usher spoke at a Harris rally in Georgia. "It's just 17 days away from a very important election," he spoke on the podium. "And we have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leadership for our country."
He added that he is in favor of Harris "because she fights for everyone's rights, for freedom, and it doesn't matter where you from. She has a vision for our country that includes everyone, a vision that supports small businesses, invests in our health, in our communities, and gives everyone a chance to get ahead. But we got work to do. Atlanta, ATL, we got work to do to get this campaign across the finish line. I'm counting on you."
