AceShowbiz - Tom Holland has thrilled Spider-Man fans with the revelation that he and co-star Zendaya Coleman have read an early draft of the script for the fourth installment of the franchise. Appearing on "The Rich Roll Podcast", Holland revealed, "We have a creative and a pitch and a draft which is excellent. It needs work but the writers are doing a great job."
Holland expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "It really lit a fire in me." He shared that he and Zendaya were particularly impressed with the script's content, exclaiming, "We at times were bouncing around the living room like, 'This is a real movie worthy of the fans' respect.' "
However, Holland acknowledged that the script requires refinement. "There's a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going," he explained.
The actor emphasized the challenges of integrating "Spider-Man 4" into the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. "One of the things to bear in mind with Marvel is that your film is a small cog in a large machine," he said. "And you need to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture."
Holland has portrayed Peter Parker/Spider-Man in three stand-alone films, opposite Zendaya's MJ, including 2017's "Spider-Man: Homecoming", 2019's "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home".
Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Marvel's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", is in talks to take over directorial duties for "Spider-Man 4" from Jon Watts.
Holland and Zendaya fell in love while making the Spider-Man films. They have since confirmed their romance and have been facing engagement rumors in recent years.
