AceShowbiz - Amid the shock over the tragic passing of Liam Payne, many of his fans have apparently channeled their anger to the wrong person. Actress Maya V. Henry claimed she has been mistaken for the late singer's ex Maya Henry and received a ton of nasty comments as a result.

Maya V. Henry, who is a Canadian actress, was inadvertently dragged into the drama due to her similar name to Liam's former fiancee. Page Six even failed to differentiate these two ladies, using the actress' photo instead of the Texas model's in a post with a caption that read, "Liam Payne's ex Maya Henry accused singer of obsessive contact, began legal action against him days before his death."

Noticing this, the producer/director took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 16 to set things straight. "@pagesix please remove my photos from your articles," she wrote along with a screenshot of the post that featured her photo alongside a picture of Liam with his real ex-girlfriend.

The social media content creator added, "To anyone messaging me about Liam, you have the WRONG Maya Henry." She went on imploring, "Also reconsider the nasty things you're sending to her, I've received some of them and it's abhorrent."

Maya, who was in an on-and-off relationship with Liam from 2019 until they split for good in 2022, has been bombarded with hate comments following the British singer's passing. She was blamed for his death as they were involved in a legal drama prior to the shocking news.

Last week, Maya issued a cease-and-desist order to the former One Direction member after she alleged he repeatedly contacted her, according to Daily Mail. In a TikTok video shared on October 6, Maya claimed her ex, whom she doesn't name but associates with "One Direction fans," continues to "blow up" her phone.

According to PEOPLE, Liam was struggling with the legal issues involving his ex Maya before he fatally fell from a balcony. A source told the site on Wednesday that the British singer "was extremely overwhelmed by all of the legal issues" involving the 23-year-old model.

Liam died after falling multiple stories at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16, Policía Federal Argentina confirmed. Police are investigating the cause of death and an autopsy will be performed.

Following his passing, Maya issued a statement via her representative. "Right now, she is obviously in shock," the rep told Daily Mail.

Liam was in a romantic relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy at the time of his death. He had a son, Bear, whom he shared with his ex and former Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole.
