AceShowbiz - Drea Kelly, ex-wife of R. Kelly, announced that she is writing a book titled "Under the Red Carpet". In a social media post, she hinted that the book will reveal secrets about her ex-husband's relationships with Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and herself.
Kelly, who married R. Kelly in 1996 and filed for divorce in 2006, has since spoken out about the physical, emotional, and sexual abuse she endured during their marriage. In an interview with WAAY 31 Anchor Nakell Williams, Kelly recounted the moment she realized she had had enough and left her abuser. She emphasized that her voice is now her power and that she advocates for victims of domestic violence.
Despite facing backlash and accusations of financial motives, Kelly said she stands by her decision to speak out. She believes that sharing her story validates the experiences of other victims and raises awareness about the issue of domestic violence.
Kelly's book, which aims to inspire women and guide them in rediscovering their true selves, is expected to be released on Black Friday. She expressed that she waited to write the book until she had overcome the pain of her past and could present a message of hope and resilience.
In a previous interview, Kelly clarified that her book is not a "tell-all" in the traditional sense. She explained that it focuses on self-help and empowering women rather than revealing salacious details about her ex-husband's personal life.
