AceShowbiz - Slipknot's Corey Taylor has come to the defense of Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl following the latter's admission of infidelity and the birth of a child outside of his marriage.
On the "Your Mom's House" podcast, Taylor acknowledged the messy nature of the situation but emphasized Grohl's kind and caring nature. He admitted that mistakes were made and suggested that Grohl may have been trying to get ahead of the situation by announcing the baby's existence before the other woman could.
While acknowledging that Grohl's actions were irresponsible and disappointing to fans, Taylor reminded listeners that "we're not perfect." He maintained that Grohl remains a good person with "f**king issues" and that this does not negate his positive qualities.
Taylor further explained that he understands the challenges Grohl's family will face, but refused to speculate on the reasons behind his infidelity. "I've gone through my own s**t," he said, adding that he knows it's not easy to deal with the consequences of such actions.
Grohl has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003 and has three daughters with her. He announced the birth of his fourth child on September 10, stating that he planned to be a loving and supportive parent while working to regain his wife and children's trust and forgiveness. He has not revealed the identity of the mother.
Blum has not publicly addressed the scandal but has been seen without her wedding ring. Following Grohl's announcement, the Foo Fighters canceled their headlining gig at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
