AceShowbiz - Chrisean Rock has embarked on a new chapter following her release from jail. In a recent interview with Pastor Jamal Bryant, she shared her journey from incarceration to self-discovery.
Recalling her first night behind bars, Rock stated, "I was calm and at peace... I knew I had to take care of my responsibilities... I asked God for that place to be a spiritual hospital." She acknowledged her past struggles with self-destructive behavior and her desire to embrace a different path.
"I don't plan on taking part in any self-destructive behavior," she emphasized. "I don't have an appetite for confusing things." Rock expressed a longing for purity and a commitment to her faith, envisioning herself "walking straight in [her] purity" in five years.
In the interview, Bryant and Rock discussed her transition away from substance use. Rock shared her desire to move from "worldly music" to "hood gospel," believing that her music should glorify God.
Rock's release came after a June arrest in California for charges stemming from 2022 incidents in Oklahoma. However, she still faces potential prison time for those charges. She also received a 30-day jail sentence for assaulting a singer at a concert in November.
Despite the challenges ahead, Rock remains focused on her son and her spiritual journey. She stated, "You don't have to change who you are, but you do have to convert... All the glory belongs to God."
As Rock navigates her path forward, she provides words of encouragement for women in the entertainment industry. "You don't have to change who you are... You choose music, do music for the Lord," she advised.
