AceShowbiz - Chase Stokes, 32, has been enjoying a stellar fall with the release of Netflix's "Uglies" and the upcoming fourth season of "Outer Banks". However, despite his growing fame, he remains deeply grateful for the show that launched his career.
On "Outer Banks", Stokes plays John B, a free-spirited "Pogue" known for his exceptional fitness. To maintain his character's physique, Stokes says he respects the "super lean" body type he's meant to represent.
"I want to naturally represent myself and take care of my body," Stokes states at a Brooks Running event for the new Glycerin Max shoe. "I don't want to show up on screen and look like I don't take care of myself."
Prior to the show's return, Stokes partnered with Brooks Running, finding a natural fit in their footwear as he has always enjoyed running. He credits "Outer Banks" for transforming his life, taking him from a young man living in his car to a budding Hollywood star.
"You can't slap the hand that fed you," Stokes says. "I will always be grateful for this show and for our showrunners to take a chance on a kid who had little to no credits."
He highlights the long-term success of many actors who have started on young adult shows, and acknowledges that "Outer Banks" has been his opportunity to prove himself.
