AceShowbiz - Nick Cannon, "The Masked Singer" host, shared his concerns about how Mariah Carey is coping following the loss of her mother and sister in an interview with Page Six. "She's doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances," Cannon said. "But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love."
Carey, 55, has found strength in spending time with her and Cannon's 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. "She’s really having a great time with the kids," Cannon said. "That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it’s outstanding to see them supporting their mom the way they do."
Cannon admitted that raising their now-teenagers has been "the scariest thing" in the world. He noted that his daughter, Monroe, has started wearing makeup, drawing comparisons to Carey's own glamorous style.
Amidst her grief, Carey has returned to social media and shared a glimpse of her work in the recording studio as she prepares for upcoming shows in China and Brazil. She expressed appreciation for the support she's received from her fans.
Despite the complicated relationship she had with her mother and sister, Carey has spoken openly about the love she had for them. She once described her bond with her mother as a "prickly rope of pride, pain, shame, gratitude, jealousy, admiration, and disappointment." Her relationship with her sister remained more private, but it's clear that they shared a strong connection.
Cannon and Carey's twins, Moroccan and Monroe, turned 13 on April 30 and are Cannon's eldest children. He also shares children with several other women.
Cannon is also preparing for Season 12 of "The Masked Singer", which he promises will be "the most competitive season yet" with "more clues than ever before." The show will feature new "Masked Ambassadors" and themed episodes, including "Barbie Night" and "Miley Cyrus Night".
As Carey navigates this difficult time, she has the unwavering support of her family and fans alike. Her resilience and strength are inspiring countless others who have experienced similar losses.
