AceShowbiz - Playboi Carti marked his 25th birthday on Friday, September 13 with the release of his new single, "ALL RED." The following day, he planned a public birthday party at Brooklyn Warehouse in Crown Heights.
However, the festivities were cut short when the NYPD arrived and shut down the event. Carti expressed his frustration on his Instagram Stories, stating that the party was forced to end despite a massive crowd outside. He claimed that NYPD officers threatened to arrest him if he left his car.
"TBH YALL DID YALL THANG 10,000 PEOPLE OUTSIDE VENUE ONLY FIT 3K PD FOLKS TRYING LOCK ME UNFORTUNATELY THANK U NEW YORK. THIIS MY 2ND HOME I GOT YAL," Carti wrote in a repost on his alternate Instagram account.
According to reports, the venue's capacity was 3,000, but over 10,000 people reportedly showed up. Attendees described being trampled while trying to enter the venue.
Despite the shutdown, Carti later reportedly attended a club to continue his birthday celebrations. His upcoming album, "Music," has yet to receive a release date or cover art.
