AceShowbiz - Director Matt Reeves has shared intriguing information about "The Batman - Part II" during recent interviews. The long-awaited sequel, which begins filming early next year, will take place during the winter, likely around Christmas or New Year's.

This has led to speculation that Mr. Freeze could be introduced as the villain, especially after Patrick Schwarzenegger's cryptic tweet. Patrick who happens to be the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger that played Mr. Freeze in 1997's "Batman and Robin" added fuel to the rumor as he wrote on X, "Winter has come at last! The iceman cometh."

Fans were curious if Patrick hinted as his casting as the new Mr. Freeze in the superhero movie, but he was quick to shoot down the speculation. "Nah haha but I wish!" he responded.

Despite the DC Studios shake-up, Reeves confirms that he intends to complete the trilogy he originally envisioned. "The Penguin" spin-off series was initially meant to be a stepping stone into the next movie, but Reeves acknowledges that plans have shifted since the formation of the DCU.

The Batman sequel is expected to pick up shortly after the "The Penguin" finale, further solidifying its winter setting. Reeves remains tight-lipped about the antagonist(s), but he emphasizes that he wants Robert Pattinson's Batman/Bruce Wayne arc to take center stage rather than giving space to a large ensemble of villains. Colin Farrell's Penguin has been confirmed to return, leaving open the possibility of a twisted alliance with Barry Keoghan's Joker as Farrell previously hinted, "I don't know if I'd love to go against him or form some kind of twisted alliance with Barry's Joker, but I'll just keep it close to home and say that."
