AceShowbiz - Addison Rae caught people's attention with her fashion style at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. When attending the ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, the singer opted for a quirky top that baffled Internet users.

The "Diet Pepsi" hitmaker hit the red carpet while rocking an all-white lingerie ensemble reminiscent of Madonna's 1984 VMAs performance. Her look consisted of a tiny white satin bra that barely covered her chest.

The 23-year-old paired the odd top with matching panties which had billowing ballerina tutu details. Her getup also featured 3D feather accents that were also attached to one of her top's straps. However, it was the "weird" bra design, which featured what looked like balloons, that got people talking.

Unsurprisingly, viewers quickly took to social media to weigh in on Addison's look with one saying on X, "get addison rae and her weird stuffed bra off my screen." Another similarly wrote, "addison rae looked a hot mess on that red carpet," while someone simply called the star's outfit "the ugliest thing" that night.

However, not all were critical. Some people appeared to love the TikTok sensation's look as they called her an "icon."

"This ole thing? This is Miss Claire Sullivan, and it's custom," Addison told MTV of her look for the awards-giving event taking place at the UBS Arena in New York. "A lot of Russ Meyer for the music video, Bruce Conner Breakaway, Madonna - I wore a cone bra. That's part of the inspiration for tonight, but a little bit of 'Diet Pepsi' in there and a little bit Madonna."

She also gave a shout-out to Britney Spears for the Princess of Pop's big moments at the awards show. "My favorite VMAs looks of all time are probably every single time Britney came on and performed, but especially when she did 'Satisfaction' [at the 2000 VMAs]," she gushed.
