AceShowbiz - Director Jason Reitman's upcoming comedy "Saturday Night" has released a new trailer showcasing the story behind the creation of the legendary live comedy show. Set in October 1975, the film follows a group of young comedians and writers as they navigate the high-stakes environment leading up to the first broadcast of "Saturday Night Live".

The trailer features Lorne Michaels, played by Gabriel LaBelle, as the creator and producer determined to make his vision a reality. The ensemble cast also includes Rachel Sennott as Michaels's ex-wife, Dylan O'Brien as Dan Aykroyd, and Cooper Hoffman as former NBC executive Dick Ebersol.

The trailer gives a sneak peek into the chaotic 90 minutes before the first-ever broadcast, where everything that could go wrong did. Reitman's experience as a guest writer on "SNL" provided valuable insights into the high-stakes atmosphere of a live show. To replicate the authentic environment of "SNL", Reitman created an open workspace for his cast, resembling the collaborative atmosphere fostered by Michaels on the actual show.

"Saturday Night" will hit theaters on October 11. The film's release date coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first "SNL" broadcast, making it a fitting tribute to the cultural phenomenon that shaped late-night comedy.
