The British supermodel reportedly arrived at the time she was instructed to by the event's producers and was left confused by the Vogue editor-in-chief's early departure.

AceShowbiz - Naomi Campbell was reportedly not in the wrong amid apparent tension between her and Anna Wintour at a recent fashion event. The two ladies were throwing shade at each other onstage after the model allegedly arrived late to Fashion Row's Fashion Show and Style Awards, but sources have defended the English beauty.

According to sources close to Naomi, the supermodel was not late to the Tuesday, September 3 event. The sources insisted that the 54-year-old arrived at the time she was instructed to by the event's producers.

Per TMZ's report, it was Anna who moved up the presentation slot since the Vogue director wanted to make her way to the U.S. Open. The fashion magazine editor did end up at the tennis tournament where she was photographed having a nice time with other spectators.

In the meantime, Naomi was left confused by Anna's early departure. She reportedly noticed the fashion guru's exit and was disappointed by it, prompting her to make her own shady remark during her speech.

The catwalk beauty was reportedly pissed not only because Anna snubbed her, but also because the designers who were putting on a show that night did not impress her.

At the fashion event in Harlem, New York, Anna was on hand to present Naomi with the Fashion Icon Award. However, she was reportedly so annoyed with Naomi's tardiness that she actually left the event after her speech wrapped. "I am a very punctual person, and I have the honor of presenting tonight to someone who is often late," she said in her introduction.

After a second introduction from Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr, Naomi took the stage and threw a little jab back at Anna. "It's so important that I'm here today, and I'm honored to be here in Harlem."

"Everything's going to work out the way it's going to work out. It wasn't my choice to have the other woman," she said, referring to Anna. "I'd much rather have this," the mom of two added, gesturing to Samira who eventually presented her with the award.

As the crowd gasped, the catwalk beauty said she had to speak her truth because she's "always been unapologetically truthful." Still, Naomi praised Anna for supporting her career when she was a teen.

"We must still say thank you to Anna Wintour, as she did take the time to come here and give me the award even though I wasn't here," she said. "So thank you, Anna Wintour, for your support in my career from 1987, meeting a young black girl from South London in British Vogue offices and taking a chance in giving me a shoot. And so, I thank you for your influence and your continuing support in pushing fashion forward also."
