AceShowbiz - Ice Spice has defended herself after seemingly throwing shade at Cleotrapa. The Bronx femcee has clapped back at social media users, who were upset after she appeared to take a jab at her former pal.
"u losers can body shame & falsely diagnose me all day but I'm wrong for defending myself ?" the "Munch (Feelin' U)" raptress posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, September 3. "I want u to realize I'm just a person a rich troll yes but just a person."
Ice Spice likely received complaint after she posted a shady poll on the same platform. "hmm what should I do for dinner," she asked her followers, giving "steakhouse" and "chicken salad" as the options. This was after Cleo claimed that Ice refused to give her a chicken salad while on tour.
Ice Spice's father has also jumped into the discourse. He insisted that he's black after Cleo accused his daughter of lying about her Nigerian heritage.
Ice previously declared, "im Nigerian but idk which tribe maybe u right!" When someone questioned the validity of her statement, Cleo chimed in, "Her father is an Hispanic man. I seen him on tour."
Responding to Cleo's claim, Ice Spice's father clapped back, "We took an ancestry test U fkn moron." He went on stating, "@iamcleotrapa we met twice in the green room. We barely spoke, who said I'm Hispanic? Ken I'm gonna dead this right here. I'm a black man. Born and raised the the BX. Keep me out this bulls**t."
In her rant, Cleo said she was forced to change in bathrooms, come out of pocket for hotel rooms and wasn't paid while working with Ice Spice on her "Y2K!" world tour. She said in her video, "You actually have one time to show me that you are jealous, intimidated, untrustworthy, fake, disloyal, ingenuine, manipulative, and calculated."
In her response, Ice Spice said, "Crashing out is sad you guys." She went on mocking her former pal, "The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they're not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it … That's when they decide to crash out every single time. I'm noticing a pattern."
Cleo later hit back by bringing up rumors that Ice Spice uses Ozempic. "Imagine being called big by someone that was just big," she wrote. "I'm going to bed bro ozempic got yall gassed & fatphobic now? BET."
Ice Spice's manager James Rosemond Jr. has also slammed Cleo, writing on X, "This is what happens when an artist's team dont manage their artists expectations when an opportunity comes in front of them. If you not prepared for an opportunity and your team isn't properly advancing then that's on them. Not on us offering the opportunity."
"You have to invest in yourself, aka pay expenses if need be for the opportunity," he stressed. "It's corny. Someone gives you an opportunity and this is the thanks the person gets. Openers dont have same things headlines has."
"The entitlement and ego are crazy," he further claimed. "An artist (and their team) needs to know what to do when these opportunities come their way. They need to know how to leverage it to advance their career. But some artists just don't know how to come out with HITS so they crash out and go on rants."
