AceShowbiz - Johnny Gaudreau's widow has broken her silence on his death. Two days after the NHL star and his little brother, Matthew Gaudreau, were tragically killed by a suspected drunk driver, Meredith Gaudreau offered heartbreaking tributes on Instagram.

Sharing a family portrait and pictures of the couple, Meredith wrote, "Thank you for the best years of my life. Despite losing you, I am still the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours." She added in the Saturday, 31 post, "I love you so so much. You were perfect."

"Some days it felt too good to be true. I love every single thing about you," the mourning wife continued. "You are my forever and I can't wait to be with you again. I love you so much forever and ever."

Meredith followed it up with pictures of the athlete with their two young children, a 1-year-old daughter named Noa and a 6-month-old son, Johnny Jr. "The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with," she penned.

"John never missed a single appointment. Was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the Apple of Noa's eye," Meredith further detailed. "I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much daddy."

Johnny and Matthew were killed on Thursday night, August 29 in a biking accident in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. The brothers were struck by a suspected drunk driver while biking along Country Route 551 North around 8:20 P.M.

Johnny, aged 31, and Matthew, aged 29, were in their hometown to attend their sister Katie Gaudreau's wedding as groomsmen. Despite their joyous plans, the brothers' lives were tragically cut short when Sean M. Higgins, 43, attempted to pass two slow-moving vehicles and struck them from behind. Both Johnny and Matthew were pronounced dead at the scene. Their sister Katie Gaudreau has since called off her wedding.
