AceShowbiz - After weathering a series of leaks and personal challenges, Big Sean has finally pinned down a release date for his sixth studio album, "Better Me Than You". Initially slated for August 9, the album was delayed after being leaked online.
The Detroit rapper confirmed in an emotional Instagram Live session that the album will now be released on August 30, sharing how his mother played a crucial role in helping him overcome his creative apprehensions. "The album is dropping this week," Sean announced. "I appreciate my mom for being that guardian angel always giving me that advice. She really talked me through it for real."
Big Sean, visibly emotional during the session, said he's been working tirelessly to ensure the album meets his high standards. "I haven't been sleeping a lot. I been giving this **t my all. I'm burned the f**k out. I do do this s**t for the people that f**k with me," he added. His mother's encouragement helped him overcome his doubts. "I'm excited. That's one thing my mom said, 'Get excited! Drop - Your album is fire!' Everyone around me keeps saying that," Sean mentioned.
Even before its official release, "Better Me Than You" has caused a stir. An anonymous user leaked much of the album on social media, leading Sean to express his frustrations and drop the album's first official single, "Yes". As a gesture to fans, Sean shared a psychedelic, colorful trailer that adds to the excitement surrounding the new release. "Imma just start droppin' this new music before they leak it all," he wrote on Instagram.
