AceShowbiz - Bunnie XO, a well-known model and podcaster, recently opened up about a devastating health scare on her "Dumb Blonde" podcast, referring to it as a "death scare."
On the August 8 episode, the 44-year-old revealed she had been struggling with mysterious headaches since March, which finally led her to seek medical attention. This decision was driven by her long-standing fear of aneurysms, a fear rooted in her mother's near-fatal experience with a ruptured aneurysm.
According to Bunnie, her headaches seemed to correlate with her diet, despite her efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle to counteract past drug and alcohol abuse. Concerned about the recurrent headaches, she reached out to her doctor who ordered an MRI. The results initially suggested the presence of an aneurysm on her carotid artery.
"They think they might have found an aneurysm on your carotid artery," Bunnie recounted on her podcast. Panic set in, as her worst fears seemed to be materializing. Bunnie explained, "I'm in a higher percentile of rupturing because my mom had one," corroborating the National Institute of Health's assessment that a family history increases rupture risk.
The misdiagnosis plunged Bunnie into a state of intense stress and anxiety. "I cried for three days," she admitted, describing how the news left her unable to sleep, riddled with worry, and severely physically distressed. Another scan confirmed a two-millimeter aneurysm in her brain, compounding her already heightened fears.
However, a follow-up with a neurologist later revealed that there was no aneurysm. "The neurologist said, 'It's a blood vessel that matches on the other side of your carotid artery,' and assured her that there was no immediate threat to her health," she shared. Despite the initial misdiagnosis, this experience had a profound impact on her perspective.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Bunnie XO expressed a newfound appreciation for life. "It made me realize that none of this [materialistic] stuff matters. Family and the people you love are all that matters," she emphasized. In the days following her scare, she found comfort in the company of her husband, country star Jelly Roll, cherishing the moments spent together.
Bunnie Xo's story serves as a stark reminder of the importance of health and the fragility of life. For her, this misdiagnosis was a pivotal event that underscored the value of loved ones and the significance of staying vigilant about one's health.
