AceShowbiz - Eric Braeden has set things straight about his political stance after he was wrongly mentioned as one of Donald Trump supporters. The Emmy Award-winning actor has taken to social media to debunk the "outrageous" claim while calling out the former U.S. president as "fraudster."
On Sunday, August 4, the 83-year-old wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Just found out someone put me on a list of celebs supporting TRUMP!! That's outrageous!" Not holding himself back, he added, "Under NO circumstances will I support that FRAUDSTER, that BULLS**TTER, who is ruining our country!"
Eric's clarification was not warranted by Trump's real supporters, who apparently did not know him. Though the actor has famously played Victor Newman on CBS' "The Young and the Restless" since 1980, someone asked, "No seriously, who are you?" Trolling back, the acting vet responded, "JOSE JIMENEZ!!"
Another user commented underneath Eric's tweet, "No one knows who you are, bud. Settle down." The actor wrote back, "Then tell me why you read this?" to which the second user responded, "Because your dumbass post came across my timeline."
"Bless your heart. I have no idea who you are. You are not a celebrity," a third troll claimed. A fourth stated, "Nobody knows who you are and I'm too lazy to Google you!" Someone else suggested, "You probably should support him because no one knows who the hell you are."
Many, however, have since come to Eric's defense and confirmed his acting career that has spanned more than six decades. "While, I didn't grow up watching your show, I still know who you are. I don't know what kind of lives these people are living," one user defended him.
Another clapped back at the critics, "Ask any woman in your life if they watch Young And the Restless, and they'll tell you EXACTLY who he is. Eric's only been on TV every weekday for the last 44 years. Wow! White people dont know Victor Newman from young and the restless? Most black people parents my age watched this as we were growing up."
Someone else tried to end the debate as saying, "We'll Sir if they don't no who you are it ain't none of there business. Only the Best of us no who you are. And I thank your Awesome. NUFF SAID."
