AceShowbiz - JT has been making strides towards a solo career over the past year, dropping singles under her own name. Now, she is taking a significant step with the release of her first EP. The Miami-bred rapper announced the news on social media, revealing the title, release date and cover art for "City Cinderella".
The cover art, designed by SZA, features JT with her bottom half transformed into a shattered ice or glass, creating a visually striking image. She wears a tiara, befitting the project's title.
According to Genius, the EP is expected to include previously released singles "OKAY", "No Bars" and "Sideways", as well as their Jeezy (Young Jeezy) remix. The release date is set for July 19, where it will face competition from high-profile projects by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) and Denzel Curry.
Fellow artists and fans have expressed excitement over JT's solo venture. Kali Uchis and Snoh Aalegra have shown their support on social media. JT signed with Quality Control Music/Motown Records along with her City Girls counterpart, Yung Miami.
JT's solo journey began with the release of "No Bars" last year, followed by "Alter Ego" with Doechii and "Sideways". Her singles have gained traction, with "OKAY" debuting at No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
