When discussing a scene in his new movie 'A Family Affair' in a new interview, the former teen heartthrob expresses his admiration for Joey's comedic timing.

AceShowbiz - Zac Efron, the former teen heartthrob, has transitioned into a leading man. However, he recently found himself drawn back to the realm of comedy when he worked alongside Joey King in Netflix's "A Family Affair". Impressed by King's physical comedy skills, Efron couldn't help but compare her to his former "17 Again" costar, the late Matthew Perry.

During a joint interview with Entertainment Weekly, Efron expressed his admiration for King's comedic timing. While discussing a scene where King's character walks in on Efron and Nicole Kidman's characters in a compromising position, he stated, "Her stunt - when you walk in the room when Nicole [Kidman] and I are hooking up - it's one of the funniest things ever."

Efron went on to say, "I think that was one of the most brilliant physical comedy bits I've seen in a long time. That was very funny. Matthew Perry-esque. It was genius." King, who had not expected such high praise, replied with a humble, "Oh, that's so nice of you. Oh, gosh."

Efron's comparison to Perry is particularly meaningful given their past collaboration. In the 2009 film "17 Again", Efron played the teenage version of Perry's character. The late actor passed away in October 2023 from the acute effects of ketamine.

In the wake of Perry's death, Efron expressed his devastated state, sharing memories of working with his mentor and close friend. He also revealed that Perry had expressed a desire for him to play Perry in a potential biopic. Efron expressed his gratitude and willingness to take on the role, acknowledging Perry's influence on his career and life.
