The rapper opens up about her decision to focus on her solo career, the challenges she's faced and the strong bond she shares with her City Girls co-member JT.

AceShowbiz - Yung Miami, one half of the dynamic female rap duo City Girls, has taken to her solo path and is finding success in her own right. Recently, she sat down on the red carpet of the 2024 BET Awards to discuss her new projects and the future of City Girls.

Miami acknowledges the challenges that have plagued the group's recent endeavors. After the underwhelming reception to their last album, "RAW", Miami and JT realized they were "in two different spaces." She explains to Billboard's Carl Lamarre, "We older now, and [JT] was doing her own thing. She on the West Coast, I'm in Miami. I'm doing my own thing. And I felt like naturally, when she doing her own thing, it just worked for her. And when I'm doing my own thing, it worked for me. But when we get together as a group, it just wasn't connecting."

Despite this setback, Miami remains optimistic about the future. She explains that her solo journey is motivated by the negative attention she often receives. "From day one, they always said 'Caresha, shut up.' It's always been like, 'You can't rap, you can't do this, you can't do that.' And I've been doing it for six years. We had a song with Drake. I've been very successful at [rapping], and I made a lot of money off of it and I stay booked. And I feel like people are just trolls. I feel like we in a trolling era, so you got to block out the noise. You can't let people dictate your life and tell you what you can and can't do."

Miami's solo ambitions are evident in her recent releases, such as "Rap Freaks" and "50/50 Freestyle". She has also launched her own podcast, "Caresha, Please". and is reportedly working on a reality TV show. Her focus on her solo career is a testament to her determination to prove her abilities as a rapper and to create her own path in the music industry.
