AceShowbiz - Nicole Scherzinger has shared her memories of her time with the multi-platinum-selling girl group The Pussycat Dolls, revealing the demanding schedule and struggles she faced.

In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, the 45-year-old singer-songwriter and Broadway performer said, "So the Dolls, it was a profoundly overwhelming experience, right? It was very difficult because I was really learning about myself along the way."

Scherzinger joined the Pussycat Dolls in 2003 alongside Kimberly Wyatt, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, and Carmit Bachar. Their debut album, "PCD", became a global success, spawning hits like "Don't Cha" and "Buttons."

However, Scherzinger painted a picture of a relentless schedule that took a toll on her physical and emotional well-being. "They never allowed sleep in our schedule," she said. "It was a recipe for disaster."

The singer recalled also struggling with body dysmorphia during that period, fueled by the group's revealing outfits and her perceived inadequacy as a dancer compared to her bandmates. "It was difficult for me in the beginning because I didn't feel comfortable in my skin," Scherzinger admitted.

Despite these challenges, Scherzinger emphasized that she maintained creative control over her wardrobe and appearance. "I wanted to look like Will.i.am and Gwen Stefani. So I got to wear clothes that I felt empowered in, and then the girls got to choose what they wanted too."

Following their disbandment in 2010, the Pussycat Dolls briefly reunited in 2019 and planned a reunion tour in 2020. However, the tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent legal conflicts.

Scherzinger has since stated that she is "hopeful for the future" and maintains love for her former bandmates. "I'm really proud of the music that the Dolls made, and I'm very proud of the little mark that we made with our group," she said.
