Celebrity hairstylist Kadijah Balde responds to a scathing comment on social media that the 'Munch (Feelin' U)' raptress' recent hairstyle was copying Nicki's.

AceShowbiz - Ice Spice's hairstylist has come clean on the inspiration behind her recent style. After the Bronx femcee was accused of trolling Nicki Minaj with her new hairstyle, Kadijah Balde has stressed that there's no truth to the allegations.

On Wednesday, June 26, Kadijah, who goes by @dijahslayy on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, put a side-by-side image of Ice and Princess Diana, revealing that the raptress' look in short blonde bob was inspired by the late royal. "Reference was Princess Diana, and she nailed it!" she captioned the picture, adding, "She really is the modern Princess Diana."

Begging to differ, a user retorted, "Reference was Nicki Minaj actually." To this comment, the hairstylist did not hesitate to fire back as writing, "Not everything is about Nicki." She insisted, "This was a Princess Diana recreation, aka what she and the general public have been calling her since she started rapping."

However, many were still not convinced by Kadijah's explanation. After The Neighborhood Talk posted a screenshot of her tweet and response to the critic's comment, one Instagram user alleged, "Everything is about Nicki." Another commented, "Baby that's a Nicki wig," as someone else wrote, "Next!"

Kadijah defended Ice Spice's hairstyle after the hip-hop artist uploaded on her TikTok page a clip of her rocking short blonde bob while mouthing the lyrics of her new song "Phat Butt". Wearing an animal print outfit, she appears to hold the camera which alternately captured her and a man with a stern facial expression inside a moving car before the two of them cracked up.

While Ice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, might intend to promote her new track with the video, people couldn't help but notice the similarity between her new wavy hairstyle to Nicki's old wig. This further convinced social media users that she was poking fun at her "Princess Diana" collaborator.

Previously, the 24-year-old sparked a debate about whether or not she was copying Nicki after dropping a teaser of her new song "Phat Butt" earlier this month. Many thought that she emulated the 41-year-old raptress too much as she showed different flows while rapping, "Got these b***hes copying my pose/ Got these b***hes bitin' all my flows. Like Ballerinas keep them on they toes!!/ And I really write, like f**k a ghost."
