AceShowbiz - In April 2023, Megan Thee Stallion's former cameraman Emilio Garcia filed a lawsuit against her, alleging sexual harassment and labor code violations. Garcia claimed that Megan forced him to watch a sexual encounter between her and another woman on a 2022 trip to Ibiza and that he was fired the following year.

Megan and her team have denied the allegations and are now seeking to get the lawsuit dismissed. On June 25, Megan filed a motion for dismissal in California Superior Court, arguing that the case lacks jurisdiction.

According to court documents obtained by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, Megan's lawyers stated that Garcia should have filed his suit in New York instead of California, where neither party is a resident. They argued that the alleged conduct occurred in Ibiza, Spain, and that both Garcia and Megan are citizens of Texas and Florida, respectively.

Megan's team also argued that the labor code claims are moot because Garcia's contract classified him as an independent contractor and provided for New York law and jurisdiction. They labeled the lawsuit as "false" and an attempt to "tarnish" Megan's reputation.

The judge has yet to rule on Megan's motion for dismissal.

In response, Garcia's lawyer, Ron Zambrano, accused Megan of trying to "shame the victim" and "shift blame." He maintained that Garcia's claims are truthful and that Megan broke the law.

The case highlights the challenges in resolving legal disputes between parties residing in different jurisdictions and raises questions about the role of social media in shaping public opinion in legal proceedings.
