In a series of heartfelt Instagram updates, actress Nina Dobrev shares her challenging yet hopeful journey of recovery following a severe dirt bike accident.

AceShowbiz - Actress Nina Dobrev, best known for her role in "The Vampire Diaries," is currently on the mend after a dirt bike accident in May left her with severe injuries, including a torn ACL, meniscus, and a fractured knee. The 35-year-old star has been keeping her fans updated through Instagram stories, sharing her day-to-day recovery process.

On Monday, June 17, Dobrev posted several photos displaying her large leg cast and her use of a CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) Machine. "In case you've been wondering what I've been up to," she wrote, summarizing her days: "Eat. Sleep. CPM Machine. Physical Therapy. Repeat." She explained, "If you've had this injury you know what a CPM is...the rest of you won't."

A CPM Machine, according to Verywell Health, is a motorized device that "gently bends a joint back and forth to aid with recovery following a joint injury or surgery." Unlike traditional physical therapy exercises that require patient effort, the CPM machine performs all the movements to restore joint mobility and prevent scarring.

Dobrev's accident happened when she lost control of her bike during a wheely, landed awkwardly, and her knee "just, like, snapped." "Don't ever get on a dirt bike," she humorously warned on "The Talk," adding that she was grateful the bike did not fall on her, which could have resulted in even more severe injuries.

Post-surgery, which was successfully performed in June, she's been following a strict regimen and relying heavily on physical therapy to regain her strength. "Cuddle puddle is my life these days; it's just the puppies, and at home watching movies, physical therapy, eat, sleep, or pee is kind of the schedule," she shared with the hosts. She's also found comfort in binge-watching the show "Fargo."

Despite the challenge, Dobrev has found ways to boost her spirits. She recently attended an event in a glamorous Miu Miu outfit, humorously captioning a video of herself, "Crutches but make it Fashunnnn."

Alongside her, Shaun White, her boyfriend of four years and Olympic snowboarder, has been a constant source of joy and support. White, who wore a sweater featuring Dobrev's TV character Elena Gilbert, danced around to make her laugh, prompting Dobrev to declare, "You're out of your mind, and I love it!"

The resilience and positive outlook displayed by Nina Dobrev throughout her recovery journey are not only inspiring but also a testament to her determination and the power of a supportive partner.
