Meanwhile, Tarek and Heather previously sparked controversy over a skit promoting Tarek and Heather's HGTV show. In the video, Heather places a trash bag over Tarek's head and throws him into the garbage, accompanied by the lyrics "Leave (Get Out)".
The skit drew criticism from some followers who found it violent and insensitive. Tarek responded to one comment, clarifying that it was a playful joke between him and his wife.
