Rubi Rose has set the record straight. Having faced criticism after saying she was only 16 years old when she appeared in Migos' "Bad and Boujee" music video, the femcee took to social media to set the record straight.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the 26-year-old musician quote-retweeted a video from her appearance on "The Joe Budden Podcast" where she made the claim. In her message, she wrote, "I was 18 in the 'Bad and Boujee' video y'all. My bad."
Rubi wasn't lying though. She was born on October 2, 1997, and the video for the Migos classic was released on October 31, 2016. She shot the MV when she was 18, and it actually came out when she was 19.
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Rubi also admitted that she doesn't write her own bars. She said, "I definitely have, you know, my writers and people."
"Everybody uses writers, though, like realistically," she added. "Like when people say they don't - I don't know, maybe you [Joe Budden] really don't, but like literally, I feel like everybody uses writers."
Rubi recently made headlines after sparking romance rumors with Druski. In April, the influencer and comedian sent tongues wagging after the latter posted a picture of the two cozying up to each other during a vacation.
The 29-year-old comic, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, posted a shot on Instagram on April 21. In the caption, he simply wrote, "DRUBI [red heart emoji]," causing a stir about the two potentially in a romantic relationship.
Rubi herself fueled the dating speculations with her comment. Reacting to the photo in Druski's comment section, the Lexington, Kentucky model penned, "You love me huh baby." The said picture, however, has since been taken down.
