The 'Flowers' singer has spoken out about her selective circle of celebrity friendships, emphasizing the importance of genuine connections over superficial relationships.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus has made it clear that when it comes to her relationships with other celebrities, she values quality over quantity. In a recent interview on Netflix's "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman", the Grammy-winning singer explained her selective approach to maintaining friendships within the entertainment industry.

"I am not very active or a very active part of my community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities. It just doesn't feel like my people when I'm in that room," said Cyrus. She continued to emphasize that this selectiveness hasn't hindered her connection with long-time friend and collaborator Beyonce Knowles.

The "Flowers" singer reminisced about her first significant interaction with Beyonce during the 2008 Stand Up to Cancer telethon. Sharing the stage with major artists like Rihanna, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige, a young Cyrus felt out of place among her more seasoned and glamorous counterparts. "I was, like, sandwiched between Rihanna and the Queen Bey, and they're fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now. Towering over me, completely stunning," she recalled.

Highlighting Beyonce's kindness, she added, "I'm like, super small, have acne, have braces on the back of my teeth, and I'm standing next to Mariah Carey, who is dripping in diamonds. And Beyonce was so kind to me."

More recently, Cyrus and Beyonce teamed up for the duet "II Most Wanted" from Beyonce's latest album "Cowboy Carter". The song's success, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, has strengthened their relationship. "Now, just from seeing her, I've created, like, a relationship, maybe, a bit more in-depth," Cyrus noted.

Despite these connections, Cyrus reiterates that she isn't heavily involved in celebrity circles. "I'm part of my community in that way, but it's all quantity - not quality," she said. "I'm not very active in that."

Cyrus also reflected on her upbringing and her relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. While acknowledging that she may have inherited some "narcissism" from him, she praised his grounded nature despite his fame. "He always did, even when he was super famous," she said, contrasting her relatively comfortable childhood with her father's more challenging early life.

In the landscape of Hollywood's often superficial relationships, Miley Cyrus' approach to friendships stands out as a testament to valuing genuine connections over sheer numbers. Her bond with Beyonce exemplifies the "kindness and consistency" she cherishes in her relationships.
