Ariana Grande's latest music video 'The Boy Is Mine' from her album 'Eternal Sunshine' is a star-studded affair full of surprising cameos and nod to one of the most famous superheros, Catwoman.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande is back and fiercer than ever with her new music video for "The Boy Is Mine," the third track from her latest album, "Eternal Sunshine." The singer transforms into a Catwoman-like figure, stitching her own catsuit and pursuing the city's mayor, Max Starling, played by Penn Badgley.

Badgley, famous for his role as an obsessive stalker in the show "You," finds himself on the receiving end of obsession in this video.

Directed by Christian Breslauer, the clip shows Badgley's Mayor Starling tackling the city's rat problem by releasing hungry stray cats. Grande, portraying an enthralled constituent, concocts a love potion and sneaks into his apartment. Unlike "You," the story has a whimsical ending as the mayor breaks the potion and falls in love with her without it. The couple enjoys a charming black-and-white outro with many cats.

Adding to the nostalgic charm, the video features cameos from Brandy and Monica, the R&B icons behind the 1998 hit also titled "The Boy Is Mine." In Grande's reimagining, they appear as news anchors discussing the mayor's press conference. This twist shifts the focus from a competitive rivalry to Grande's solo pursuit of her love interest.

Grande discussed the clip in an interview on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," revealing her excitement about collaborating with Badgley. "I've been a fan of [his] my entire life," she gushed, "Super honored to work with him." During the appearance, she also teased the music video while donning a Catwoman outfit. "The Boy Is Mine" video isn't without its Easter eggs and Grande's "Victorious" co-star Elizabeth Gillies makes a surprise cameo as the voice of the rats.

Despite speculations about the song's autobiographical nature, especially considering her publicized split from Dalton Gomez and relationship with Ethan Slater, the video remains a fantastical tale. The track, released in March, is part of Grande's "Eternal Sunshine" album, and she offered a live performance of it on Fallon.

Grande's fans are sure to appreciate this reinvented bad-girl anthem that not only pays homage to its original but adds a contemporary, cinematic experience. With its blend of nostalgia, star power, and cat-infused creativity, "The Boy Is Mine" is a standout track in her discography.
