The 39-year-old reality TV star expresses hope that her past drug and alcohol use may prevent her from developing cancer, while also acknowledging the dangerous nature of addiction.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Osbourne has jokingly stated that she believes her previous drug and alcohol use may have "pickled" her, potentially protecting her from cancer. "I'm hoping that I've embalmed myself so I don't ever get cancer," she said during an episode of "The Osbournes" podcast. "I'm pickled from all the drugs and alcohol, for sure."

However, Kelly's brother, Jack Osbourne, cautioned that she might be overly optimistic. "I don't think it works that way. But I'm no doctor," he said. According to Kelly, colorectal cancer runs in their family, with their mother, Sharon Osbourne, battling the disease in the early 2000s.

The 39-year-old reality TV star opened up about her past addiction issues during the podcast episode. She revealed that her substance abuse began at age 13 after being prescribed opioids for a tonsillectomy. "That was all I needed," she recalled. "I went from having all these negative voices in my head to feeling like life was giving me a hug."

Over time, Kelly's addiction worsened, escalating from Vicodin to Percocet and eventually heroin. She has been open about her struggles with sobriety, including a brief relapse in 2021. "This is something I'm going to battle for the rest of my life," she admitted. "It's never going to be easy."

While Kelly's hope that her past drug use will protect her from cancer may be unfounded, it highlights the complex relationship between addiction and health. It also underscores the importance of seeking support and treatment for substance abuse issues, which can have devastating consequences for both the individual and their family.
