AceShowbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow is downsizing after her youngest child, Moses, graduated high school and headed off to college in Rhode Island. The 51-year-old actress has put her sprawling 8,000-square-foot mansion in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles up for sale for $29.99 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Paltrow purchased the home with her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, in 2012 for $9.95 million. They share two children together, Apple, 20, and Moses, 18. After Paltrow married producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, he and his two children also moved into the property.
According to listing agent Lea Porter, the actress is selling the house as her children are getting older. Moses recently graduated from high school, and his parents reunited for the occasion. Paltrow also owns a newly-finished property in Montecito, California, near Santa Barbara, as well as a home in Amagansett, New York. She and Falchuk plan to split their time between these properties and potentially a third home in Los Angeles.
The Brentwood mansion, built in 1950 and renovated in 2009, sits on two-thirds of an acre in Mandeville Canyon. It exudes privacy due to its Southern charm and gray brick exterior, which are common to the area. The front hallway features black-and-white tiled floors and French doors that lead into a spacious living room with a wood-burning fireplace, white wood-paneled walls, and a built-in bar and bookshelves.
The high-tech kitchen is a Goop fan's dream, with high ceilings, massive windows, black tile floors, and a marble island. Listing photos reveal several of Paltrow's cookbooks tucked into built-in cabinets.
The backyard amenities are equally impressive, including a deep plunge pool, gardens, and a newly constructed guest house. The guest house features stackable doors that open to the backyard, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, an office, a gym, a game room, and a movie theater. The property also includes a one-bedroom apartment above the garage, totaling eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
