Fans of the Jurassic franchise are in for a treat as Mahershala Ali, who is attached to Marvel remake 'Blade', joins an elite cast for the eagerly anticipated 'Jurassic World 4.'

AceShowbiz - Mahershala Ali is in talks with Universal and Amblin to join the next "Jurassic World" film, adding his star power to an already stellar cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Rupert Friend. The prolific Gareth Edwards, known for his work on "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," is set to direct from a screenplay by the original "Jurassic Park" screenwriter, David Koepp.

Produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley through Kennedy-Marshall, with Steven Spielberg as executive producer through Amblin, the new "Jurassic World" film is set to take the beloved franchise in an exciting new direction, diverging from the recently completed trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The three films in Pratt's trilogy, released between 2015 and 2022, grossed more than $4 billion at the global box office. Including the original "Jurassic Park" films released between 1993 and 2001, the lifetime grosses for the franchise reach an astronomical $6 billion.

Plot details for "Jurassic World" are still under wraps, but it has been unveiled that Scarlett Johansson will take over the lead role from Chris Pratt in this fresh narrative. The film aims to kick off a "new Jurassic era" with an "all-new storyline" that promises to bring fresh thrills and excitement to both die-hard fans and new audiences alike.

It was noted that David Leitch ("Bullet Train", "The Fall Guy") was previously attached to direct before talks reportedly "fell through."

Mahershala Ali, a two-time Academy Award winner for his roles in "Moonlight" and "Green Book," continues to make waves in Hollywood. He recently starred in Netflix's apocalyptic thriller "Leave the World Behind" and provided his voice talent for the upcoming Laika stop-motion animated film "Wildwood" due in 2024.

Additionally, Ali is set to make his official Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Blade in a remake of the 1998 horror-superhero film. He will also reprise his role as Aaron Davis in "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse."

"Jurassic World 4" is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. The anticipation for the movie is already building, with fans eager to see how this new chapter in the Jurassic saga unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates on this and other exciting upcoming movies in 2024 and beyond.
