AceShowbiz - Following her acclaimed performance in "American Horror Story: Delicate", Kim Kardashian has landed a starring role in a high-end legal drama for Hulu. The series, created by Ryan Murphy, will feature Kardashian as an accomplished divorce lawyer in Los Angeles who owns an all-female law firm.
Murphy, known for his ability to nurture talent, was so impressed with Kardashian's performance in "Delicate" that he approached her about doing her own show. The series, which is still untitled, is set to explore the personal and professional lives of Kardashian's character and her colleagues.
Murphy, along with writer Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, pitched the idea to Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, who is an executive producer on the family's reality show. Hulu, home to "The Kardashians," was eager to purchase the pitch due to the success of the reality series and "AHS: Delicate."
While deals are still being finalized, Kardashian, Murphy, and Jenner have already begun casting for three additional actresses to play Kardashian's law partners and an A-list actor to portray her love interest. Production is expected to start in late 2024 for a premiere in early 2025.
The role of a lawyer aligns closely with Kardashian's real-life aspirations as she is currently studying for the bar exam, having passed the baby bar last year.
Kardashian's successful acting debut in "Delicate" solidified her status as a sought-after performer. Since then, she has landed a leading role in the movie "The Fifth Wheel" which recently sold to Netflix after a bidding war.
Murphy, who has a proven track record of giving actors their first major roles, is confident in Kardashian's abilities. He is known for collaborating with Lady Gaga, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in "A Star Is Born" after her first major role on "AHS."
This is Murphy's first series for Hulu, after a string of successful shows for 20th TV, Netflix, and FX.
