AceShowbiz - Christie Brinkley had little to nothing to hide as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction on "Today" set. The supermodel appeared to go commando as she got candid about the last-minute touch up needed for her outfit ahead of her appearance on the morning show.
On Tuesday, May 28, the 70-year-old made use of her Instagram page to share behind-the-scenes photos of her "Today" appearance. In the images, she lifted up her black dress past her hips as she received assistance from a pair of crew members after part of her outfit unexpectedly ripped off before her "Today" segment.
While her hair stylist Mitch was hard at work fixing her dress, the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues model seemingly did not wear any underwear, flashing the side of her bare bum and her toned leg. Remaining in good spirit, she flashed a wide smile to the camera.
Christie had her makeup done with a swipe of bright red lipstick in the playful photos. Her bright blonde hair draped elegantly on her shoulders and chest while her nails were painted red. She appeared to go barefoot while her dress was fixed in the pictures.
"My crew keeps me in stitches … literally !" the author wrote in the caption. She added, "Thank you for the last minute touch ups @mitchbarry I knew you could wield a brush , butt …lol who knew you're so talented with a needle and thread!?! @twrhll_ @todayshow (I grabbed the L but I needed the M so Mitch did the stitch!) @clairemercuri1 and @sandylinter on make up and camera!"
Christie's candid post left her daughter Alexa Ray Joel confused. In the comments section, the 38-year-old singer/songwriter, whom the model shares with ex-husband Billy Joel, asked, "Mom... what's happening here?"
During her appearance on the show, Christie spoke up on television for the first time about being diagnosed with skin cancer. She revealed that her skin cancer was found when she accompanied her daughter on a dermatologist appointment.
"I wasn't even scheduled for a check-up, I was accompanying my daughter to the dermatologist," Christie recalled. "I was in the room, and he had this little magnifying glass out, and he's looking at a couple of things that she was worried about."
"I thought, 'There is that little spot right on the side of my head right here.... Should I say anything? It's not my appointment,' " she explained. "Right at the very end... I said, 'Before you put that away, do you think you could just look at this?' "
"He looked and he goes, 'We've got to do a biopsy immediately. This is something,' " Christie continued. "Then the biopsy came back [as] cancer." The author first revealed her skin cancer in an Instagram post back in March, revealing that doctor "had caught the basal cell Carcinoma early" and "removed the cancer." On "Today", she added, "They took care of it, and luckily, my hair grows in that direction, but the scar is barely noticeable."
