AceShowbiz - [cRyan Sutter] has set the record straight on his relationship with wife Trista Sutter. Having raised eyebrows with cryptic posts on Mother's Day, the former reality star insisted that the two are "grea."

Making use of Instagram on Saturday, May 18, the 49-year-old shared a black-and-white photo of himself outdoors. In the accompanying message, he wrote, "I write what is on my mind at the moment. I write my feelings without regard for how they will be interpreted and with absolutely no intent to deceive or mislead anyone - that is the farthest thing from my mind. I choose to share my thoughts on occasion because it helps me process them and, I hope, may help others navigate their own lives.

"Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great. Trista is at a place in life where she is searching a bit," he added. "An opportunity presented itself that may help her on that quest. With her family’s support, she has taken it. Part of that process means that she is temporarily inaccessible to us."

On the same day, Ryan also wrote an emotional message in a post featuring a black-and-white photo him and Trista. "I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you're doing? How was your day," he pened.

"I'd really like to hear your voice - just for a minute," he continued. "So many times I've called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I'd miss the opportunity if it were gone."

It remains to be seen where Trista is right now. However, in one of his posts on Saturday, Ryan said he writes what he feels and didn't mean to "deceive or mislead anyone" with previous posts.

Ryan met Trista while filming season 1 of "The Bachelorette", which aired in 2003, and the pair tied the knot in December of that year in a televised special. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary and share two children, son Maxwell, 16, and daughter Blakesley, 14.

Less than a week before Ryan's most recent Instagram posts, he posted a series of photos on Instagram for Mother's Day on May 12, in which he revealed that Trista was spending the day away from him and her children.

"They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I can think of only a handful of days I have not, at minimum, spoken to this incredible woman," read the caption of the first post, a photo of Trista's back. "She is the love of my life and my best friend. I cannot imagine loving her any more or any more fondly. But I guess we’re gonna find out… I miss her already."
