The 'Blame Yourself' songstress, who is gearing up for her first country album, details the reasons behind her decision to go 'back to a major label system.'

AceShowbiz - K. Michelle revealed that she is working with a major record label despite her previous statement. The "Blame Yourself" songstress shared that she has a new country music team to have a "fair rollout."

In a video making its rounds via Instagram on Monday, April 22, the 41-year-old singer opened up about her decision to work with a major record label. She said, "I said I was never going back to a major label system unless it was right. So yeah, I think that I'm picking and I picked the right [one]."

Michelle went on to say, "It's gonna be very crazy for me entering back into a full major label system, but for what I'm doing, yeah." She then noted, "And I still own my publishing even from that."

On the reason why, Michelle explained, "I just want to get y'all the best music and I want to make y'all proud and I want to make myself proud. And I just want a fair rollout. And I don't want to have to do everything by myself. It's a lot," before explaining the impact of being an independent artist.

The country music star elaborated, "And I think some of my records, my country records, are so massive. I feel like, out of respect to those records and those things that I created, I feel like they deserve a real home and a real push."

"And that's been a fight for me," Michelle continued. "I don't even give myself enough credit in the space of writing and space of producing, that type of thing. So I'm happy to announce a new team. I have a new team, a new country music team that I respect a lot because this is what they do."

The revelation came as Michelle is gearing up for her "first country album." On March 29, she wrote via Instagram, "I'm so nervous about FINALLY getting to put out my first country album, and this just fueled the fire. I'm so motivated."
