While posing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York City, the 48-year-old actress-director debuted a tattoo on her inner forearm that reads, "Stay Gold." The new ink appears to be a heartfelt homage to a famous line spoken by "The Outsiders'" Ponyboy, one of the central characters in the play.

Jolie has a history of body art with significant meanings. She has detailed back and arm tattoos in various scripts, a large tiger on her lower back, and symbols added to her fingers last year. For the Broadway event, she wore a golden dress with an ochre cape, showcasing her blonde locks and bold red lip.

"The Outsiders," a reimagined version of the 1967 novel by S. E. Hinton, takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1967. The story follows Ponyboy Curtis and his Greaser friends as they navigate the complexities of self-discovery and grapple with societal pressures.

Jolie's role in the production was announced last year. She has said that she was inspired to join the team after seeing the play with her daughter at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego.

Along with Vivienne, Jolie shares six children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, including Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Pax, who joined her at the opening night of "The Outsiders."

Justin Levine, who works with Jolie and her daughter on "The Outsiders," also got a "Stay Gold" tattoo. The script tattoo, inked by renowned tattoo artist Mark Mahoney, has also been adopted by other members of the creative team, including director Danya Taymor.
