AceShowbiz - Sacha Baron Cohen was seen for the first time after he and his estranged wife Isla Fisher announced their divorce. The 52-year-old comedian was pictured looking down when he was out and about in New York City on Thursday, April 11.
The snap saw the "Borat" star strolling the streets alone. The actor looked casual during the outing, wearing a green sweater and gray jeans. He additionally paired the look with a fedora and spectacles.
The British star looked somber during the sighting. His outing came after his estranged wife Isla was pictured ditching her ring during an outing in London earlier this week.
Sacha and Isla, who tied the knot in 2010, announced their separation on Friday, April 5. Alongside a picture of the former couple posing in tennis outfits, Sacha wrote at the time, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage."
"We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change," he added, before concluding, "We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy."
Recently, it was said that the pair's relationship had been strained in recent years due to conflicting professional and family commitments. Sacha's demanding filming schedules and Isla's own career aspirations allegedly led to frequent arguments over childcare and parenting responsibilities. Sources, however, noted that there's no infidelity involved in their split.
Meanwhile, another report claimed that Rebel Wilson's sexual harassment claims against Sacha was the "catalyst" for their decision to announce their split. Isla was reportedly "embarrassed" by the controversies, and she wanted to protect her reputation amid the drama.
In her memoir, "Rebel Rising", the "Pitch Perfect" actress alleged that Sacha humiliated and degraded her on the set of their 2016 film "The Brothers Grimsby". Sacha has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming that they are contradicted by evidence.
