The Grammy-winning hip-hop artist opens up about her anxiety regarding her upcoming sophomore album after celebrating the 6th anniversary of her debut studio album, 'Invasion of Privacy'.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B is gearing up for a new project and she's "a little nervous" about it. The "WAP" hitmaker opened up about her anxiety after Missy Elliott offered her some words of encouragement on social media.

Earlier this week, Cardi celebrated the 6th anniversary of her debut studio album, "Invasion of Privacy". She penned on X (formerly Twitter), "6 years ago I released my first album and it broke so many records GAH LEE!! 6 years later I'm preparing to drop the next one this year."

Cardi added, "it's so different from what everyone is expecting and I'm sooo excited. Love you guys and thank you for the support!" She then stated, "I'll talk to ya soon I been so busy these last few days."

Fans were questioning what Cardi meant by saying her next project would be "different." It prompted Missy to chime in, "Absolutely yes it's the time to experiment take it from someone who experimented and many others which allowed them to NOT be BOXED in to one sound and style." She added, "I can name tons who each of their albums sounded nothing like the one before."

In response, Cardi wrote back, "Yeup!!! I'm a little nervous… but I don't care!" The mom of two went on to note, "I'm liking doing things that my ears want to listen to and reflecting the moods I been in. It feels good."

When speaking on The Complex series "360 with Speedy" last month, Cardi admitted that she "lost herself" and was afraid to drop new music due to fear of being judged. "I just feel like I lost myself with everything, you know," she said.

"Like, a lot of music commenters and everything and a lot of people just be like, you know, 'She's afraid to drop an album, she’s afraid to drop music,' " the Grammy-winning artist elaborated further. "Last year, I barely dropped music. It’s just like I was just afraid to do everything."
