The former 'Tonight Show' host holds his wife's hand as the celebrity couple step out for a date night after he filed for a conservatorship amid her health struggle.

AceShowbiz - Amidst her ongoing battle with advanced dementia, Jay Leno and his wife, Mavis Leno, enjoyed a night out together at a comedy show at The Improv in West Hollywood.

The former "Tonight Show" host and his wife appeared in good spirits as they left the comedy club hand-in-hand on Wednesday night, April 3. Mavis, 77, wore a blue satin shirt, jeans, and sneakers, while Jay, 73, opted for a dark gray blazer, white button-down shirt, jeans, and black shoes.

Mavis's cognitive decline has taken a toll on their marriage, as revealed in a recent court-appointed counsel report related to Jay's petition for conservatorship. According to Ronald Ostrin, Mavis "sometimes does not know her husband, Jay, nor her date of birth." She also experiences disorientation and reminisces about her deceased parents.

Ostrin recommended the approval of the conservatorship, citing Mavis's consent and their long-term loving relationship. Jay intends to establish a living trust for Mavis in case anything happens to him.

The couple met in the 1970s at the Comedy Store and married in 1980. They have no children.

A hearing for the conservatorship case is scheduled for April 9.
