The 'Queen's Gambit' actress finally confirms that she did elope with her husband two years ago and now she offers glimpses of her gothic-themed nuptials.

AceShowbiz - Anya Taylor-Joy revealed on Instagram that she secretly married her "best friend," Malcolm McRae, two years ago on April Fools' Day in New Orleans. The actress shared intimate photos and videos from the gothic-looking ceremony, in which she wore a custom Dior gown adorned with her and McRae's love story.
"The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever," Taylor-Joy wrote. She added a playful note, "N.B. yes, those are anatomically correct heart cakes. Yes, I am the vampire Lestat."
The wedding cakes featured two small heart-shaped cakes on either side of a pool of blood-red fruit syrup. On her Instagram Story, Taylor-Joy shared a clip of herself and McRae crossing arms to take their first bite of the cakes.
McRae marked the couple's anniversary with an Instagram post of his own, writing, "I love you now and somehow I always have and somehow it will never end. Happy two-year anniversary (yesterday), beautiful."
After their New Orleans nuptials, Taylor-Joy and McRae married again in October 2023 at the grand Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice. Celebrity guests included Cara Delevingne, Evan Ross, Miles Teller, Nicholas Hoult, and Julia Garner.
Taylor-Joy opened up about her relationship with McRae in an interview with British Vogue, saying, "I've finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading." She added, "We're basically 80 years old and 7 at the same time, and it works really well."
The couple first met at the premiere of Taylor-Joy's Netflix series "The Queen's Gambit" in March 2021. McRae, who is a member of the band More, wrote an original song for the actress just two days later. They made their first public appearance together at the CAA Pre-Oscar Party in Los Angeles a year later.
