Amanda Bynes Determined to Lose Weight After Gaining 'Over 20lbs' Due to Depression

The former 'What I Like About You' star reveals that she had gained more than 20lbs 'in the past few months from being depressed' and shares her plan to lose weight.

AceShowbiz - Amanda Bynes has opened up about her body weight. Making use of social media, the actress portraying Holly Tyler on "What I Like About You" shared her new goal as she revealed that she gained "over 20lbs" due to depression.

On Thursday, March 28, the 37-year-old actress unveiled her plan to lose weight on Instagram Stories. Over a black screen, she wrote, "I've gained over 20lbs in the past few months from being depressed."

Though so, Amanda assured social media users, "I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don't feel like working out or eating clean." She went on to spill, "I weigh 162lbs right now and want to get back to 110lbs."

Amanda Bynes revealed that she gained weight due to depression.

The revelation came a little over one year after the "All That" alum made headlines for her alleged dramatic weight loss. In March 2023, it was reported that she weighed less than 100 pounds when she had her latest psychotic episode. She allegedly suffered extreme weight loss due to suspected prescription drug abuse.

At that time, a number of sources, who claimed to be close to the situation, spoke to The Blast on the matter. They told the media outlet that she had "startling and dramatic weight loss over the last few months." According to the sources, people around her suspected that she was abusing prescription medication.

While it was not clear which drug they believed she was abusing, Amanda has a history with Adderall. Back in 2018, she made a confession to Paper Magazine that she abused the drug, which can cause dramatic weight loss if used improperly.

The former host of "The Amanda Show" admitted that she struggled with "severe body image issues" at the height of her career. She additionally blamed the issues for her Adderall addiction. She told the media outlet, "I definitely abused Adderall."
