AceShowbiz - Kim Zolciak, the 45-year-old former star of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta", has drawn heavy criticism after posting a video of herself getting facial fillers and lip injections at an Atlanta-based med spa.
Fans slammed the reality star for spending money on cosmetic procedures while facing financial hardship. "You are in debt up to your eyeballs," one viewer wrote. "Don't you have bills to pay? NOT a good look Kim!!"
However, Zolciak paid no attention to the backlash, boasting about the "life-changing" effects of Botox. It is possible that Zolciak received complimentary services in exchange for promoting the med spa on social media.
Zolciak's financial situation has been a topic of public discussion for several years. In 2022, her mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia faced foreclosure with a $10,000 lien. The spacious estate was ready to be auctioned in 2023 after she and husband Kroy Biermann defaulted on a $1.65 million loan. However, they worked out a deal to save their house and cancel the auction.
In January 2023, Truist Bank warned that it would take action if Biermann, Zolciak's estranged husband, and she failed to pay their debt by selling their mansion. In May 2023, it was revealed that they owed the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties.
Aside from their debt with Truist Bank, Zolciak and Biermann also owe Saks Fifth Avenue and Capital One over $150,000 in unpaid credit card fees. They were ordered to pay Simmons Bank more than $230,000 after defaulting on a home equity line of credit.
Despite Zolciak's claims of being financially stable, the fact that she began pawning personal items suggests otherwise. Her estranged husband has accused her of gambling away their money during their ongoing divorce.
