In a new interview about filmmaking, the actress, who has starred in a number of Marvel movies, shares her thoughts on spreading financial resources across multiple smaller films.

AceShowbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow has shared her thoughts on Hollywood's focus on superhero films, expressing concerns about the quality and diversity of such productions. On First We Feast's "Hot Ones", she agreed with director Cord Jefferson's Oscar acceptance speech plea for more budget-conscious filmmaking. Paltrow believes that spreading financial resources across multiple smaller films allows for greater artistic expression and originality. She argues that the pursuit of profit and reaching wide audiences can sometimes compromise storytelling and unique perspectives.

Paltrow also lamented the decline of mid-budget films. Citing her earlier roles in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Shakespeare in Love", she believes that such films allowed for greater artistic freedom and diversity of art.

In a separate interview, Paltrow discussed her own experience with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). While she enjoyed her role as Pepper Potts in the "Iron Man" franchise and other MCU films, she emphasized that her character's absence after "[=Avengers: Endgame]" made sense with Tony Stark's death.

Paltrow also admitted to being behind on watching the MCU films and joking that she should "call up Marvel" to express her concerns about the lack of Pepper Potts without Iron Man.

Despite her current distance from the MCU, Paltrow recognizes the impact of the first "Iron Man" film, which she attributed to its independent-like production style and the casting of Robert Downey Jr. She noted that the franchise's commercial success led to a shift away from the original indie feel.
