Shakira has taken aim at her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique, in her latest musical release, comparing him to the infamous Harry Potter villain, Voldemort.

The former couple announced their separation in June 2022 after 12 years together. During their relationship, they welcomed two children.

Now, Shakira, 45, is making her long-awaited return to music with her album "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran", which is set to feature a track taking aim at her 37-year-old former partner.

"Voldemort, that one that shouldn't be mentioned?" Shakira said when asked about the connection. "It's hopefully the last song that I will write about this, and to him." She added, "I played it to the marketing head at Sony and he started crying. I'd never seen a man cry in my studio before."

The song reflects Shakira's sacrifices during her relationship with Pique, including putting her career on hold to support his football ambitions. "For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football," she said in an interview with The Sunday Times. "There was a lot of sacrifice for love."

Shakira also opened up about the sacrifices she was willing to make for her children and Pique, sharing two sons: Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.
