AceShowbiz - Jason Isbell has pulled the plug on his marriage to Amanda Shires. The "King Of Oklahoma" crooner filed for divorce from his wife two months ahead of their 11th wedding anniversary.

The 45-year-old reportedly submitted the divorce paper on December 15. According to WhiskeyRiff, the petition was filed in Williamson County outside of Nashville.

Jason and Amanda's split may not come as a surprise. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the two haven't been photographed together in months and a birthday tribute to Jason posted to Amanda's social media page earlier in February was deleted shortly after. The exes have also unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The pair, who share 8-year-old daughter Mercy, have been open about the ups and downs in their marriage. Their marital woes were even documented in the 2023 documentary, "Running With Our Eyes Closed", which featured an emotional scene in which Amanda read an email she'd sent Jason about the possibility of marriage counseling.

"It doesn't matter if you're a quasi-famous person like Jason or me, everybody's relationships are the same; there's up and downs and there's good and bad and you just try to deal with it," she told PEOPLE in 2022. "Life's not easy, marriage isn't easy, but aren't we lucky to be able to live?"

As for Jason, he previously admitted to The New York Times that he had pushed his loved ones away in the process of creating his album, "Reunions". "At one point, I said, 'It'd be easier if somebody had cheated.' Then we could say, 'You did this,' or 'I did this,' and 'Somebody needs to be real sorry,' " he explained. "But it was more like, 'We don't know each other right now. We're not able to speak the same language.' "
