The 'We Belong Together' hitmaker is returning to the Sin City for a new mini residency to mark 19 years since she launched her critically-acclaimed album.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey is back to Las Vegas for a new residency. The 54-year-old singer has revealed details of her Celebration of Mimi residency, which will be staged at Park MGM from April 12 to April 27.

The eight-date residency coincides with the 19th anniversary of "The Emancipation of Mimi", Mariah's 2005 hit album. Labelled a "comeback album" by critics, the record featured a number of hit singles, including "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget About Us".

In a statement shared with Billboard, it's been confirmed that "the Las Vegas shows will feature fan favourites from that album as well as other hits from her unparalleled illustrious career."

Mariah previously admitted that "The Emancipation of Mimi" was a "special" album in her career. The award-winning star told Billboard in 2020, "It really was a moment and it did feel special."

"When I think about all the different songs on [the album] and the different collaborators, the timing was just right. It was the first time I collaborated with The Neptunes, and it was the first time I worked with [James] 'Big Jim' Wright as a producer with 'Circles' and with 'Fly Like a Bird'."

"My most sacred memory from that time would be recording the vocals for 'Fly Like a Bird' in Capri. I recorded a lot of other [tracks] there, too, but I just remember finishing that song and feeling like there was something so special about it. I work at night, especially when I’m singing, so I was watching the sunrise [while] listening back to the song, and I was just like, 'I’m so proud of this song.' "
