AceShowbiz - Things may be awkward for Ayo Edebiri and Jennifer Lopez when they appear on "Saturday Night Live" tonight. A past interview of "The Bear" star where she called J.Lo a "scam" resurfaced ahead of their gig on the NBC comedy sketch show.
"She thinks she's on multiple tracks, but it's not her," the 28-year-old said when appearing in a 2020 episode of the "Scam Goddess" podcast. She seemingly made a reference to a rumor that the "On the Floor" hitmaker uses ghost singers to record her music.
Ayo went on to note, "I think she thinks that she's still good even though she's not singing for most of these songs." The actress, who won her first Emmy last month, went on to admit she became "fascinated" with J.Lo's career and "read up on" theories that she did not sing all of her tracks.
"A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, 'J.Lo didn't have time to make it to the studio,' like, 'J.Lo was busy,' " the comedienne stated. "It's like, 'Doing what?' Not singing, obviously!!"
Ayo is set to host the Saturday, February 3 episode of "Saturday Night Live", with J.Lo being tapped as the musical guest. It remains unclear if the "Hustlers" star has caught wind of Ayo's remark, but the two complimented each other in one of the short clips.
"I'm really excited, I love your show," the wife of Ben Affleck told the Golden Globe Award winner. In response, the latter replied, "I love your everything."
