While the singer/femcee seemingly didn't ask her permission to sample her song, 'Walk on By', the 'That's What Friends Are For' hitmaker shows in an interview that she was unbothered by it.

AceShowbiz - Dionne Warwick had no idea who Doja Cat was although the raptress used her music sample for "Paint the Town Red". The six-time Grammy Awards winner made the honest confession when appearing on "The Kelly Clarkson Show".
"I didn't know it had been recorded by her," the 82-year-old said of her timeless 1964 hit, "Walk on By". She added, "My granddaughter called me and says, 'Grammy, do you know you're on a record with Doja Cat?' I said, 'Doja who?' "
While Doja seemingly didn't ask her permission to sample her song, Dionne was unbothered by it. "Well, apparently, it's a major hit for her. I'm thrilled. I hope 'Walk on By' is as good for her as it has been for me. They're great songs, and finally [young people] are being exposed to some good music," she told host Kelly Clarkson.
"Paint the Town Red" is the second single of Doja's fourth studio album "Scarlet". Upon its August 4 release, the single quickly gained traction, breaking into the top ten on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart. It also climbed the charts in various radio formats. It reached the top 25 at Pop Radio, Billboard Mainstream Top 40, and Billboard Rhythmic.
The song arrived along with its bizarre music video, which shows the singer/rapper dropping her eyeball. While it has a creepy start, the MV later transitions to a much lighter scene where she rides a gigantic green creature through the sky. The clip also shows the femcee getting cozy with death and the devil, while another scene displays her throwing chunks of bloody meat.
