"I can't pay attention to it. I just can't. It's not worth it," the 62-year-old said of the rumors in an interview with Glamour, which was published on Thursday, November 30. "Of course that would hurt someone's feelings, but there are so many more interesting things to think about. Meanness and hatred are just so stupid."

Contrary to speculation that Meg's different look was due to plastic surgery, the actress claimed that she doesn't fight aging as it is "not that terrifying." She explained, "Our culture is so obsessed with youth. As an old person now, I love my age. I love where I'm at. Aging is not that terrifying. We're all doing it. I wish someone had told me earlier, 'Just relax. It is what it is. Don't pay attention to the obstacles.' "

As she's getting older, the "Sleepless in Seattle" star has learned not to care what others say about her. "There's a time in your teens and 20s where you're trying on personalities to figure out who you are, who to be," she shared. "With age, you get to a place where you say what you mean without thinking about how it's going to land. You just say what you want."

But there's one thing that is never going to get easier with age, dating. "It's just as ridiculous as ever," she said with a laugh. "I don't think anyone ever gets good at it. Maybe people do. I don't."

Meg created an online buzz when she made a rare public appearance in May for the screening of Michael J. Fox's documentary "STILL". Many speculated that she became unrecognizable after undergoing plastic surgery.
